[Pacific Automotive Network Industry Channel] On August 8, Changan Automobile announced the production and sales data for July 2020. In July 2020, Changan Automobile produced a total of 169,578 vehicles and sold 164,931 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 38.47%, while sales from January to July this year were 995,923 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 6.04%.
Among them, Hefei Changan's sales data is the most eye-catching, with July sales nearly three times higher than the same period last year. Hefei Changan is one of the Changan brand passenger car production bases, currently mainly producing CS75 PLUS, CS15 series, Yidong DT and other products. The sales of Chongqing Changan, which produces UNI-T, the popular fried chicken of Changan Automobile, also increased by 35%. The increase in sales is directly reflected in the company's profits. Changan Automobile’s financial report for the first half of the year shows that the net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies in the first half of 2020 is expected to be 2 billion to 3 billion yuan, an increase of 189%-234% over the same period of the previous year, and it will turn losses into profits.
In terms of joint venture brands, thanks to the launch of the new Explorer, Changan Ford’s sales have also recorded a 20% increase, but Changan Mazda’s performance is slightly weaker, even though CX- 30 was launched in June this year, but Changan Mazda sold 11,920 units in July, an increase of only 3% over the same period last year.
Changan Automobile will also launch many new models during the year, including the Ruicheng CC/CS55 PLUS Blue Whale version equipped with Changan’s latest Blue Whale NE 1.5T engine, and the pure electric model Yidong E- Life. Changan Ford has the Ruiji PHEV and Focus crossover station wagon. Currently, both new vehicles have completed the new vehicle declarations of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Changan Mazda's CX-30 and Mazda 3 equipped with compression-ignition gasoline engines are expected to arrive in the store in September. If there are no accidents, these two models will be on the market within the year, and there is also a pure electric model code-named J59E. Under the "combination punch" of new cars, Changan Automobile's sales may continue to maintain its growth momentum. (Text: Xinjie Zhao from Pacific Automotive Network)
