In 1929, he was only a temporary commentator in the History Hall of the West Lake Expo. This 128-day job had an impact on him lasting a lifetime. He is the one who has to be mentioned behind the Liangzhu culture, Shi Xingeng.
During the war years, his grassroots version of the "Liangzhu" archaeological report came out with difficulty, and he was heartbroken: "The mountains and rivers are so beautiful that they are discolored for the enemy's riders..." The next year, He died hastily due to scarlet fever.
No one will forget that this 25-year-old youth used the last three years of his life to open the door of Chinese civilization more than 5,000 years ago. And it is the pursuit of generations of archaeologists to wear stars and moons, and finally reveal the mystery of Liangzhu civilization more than 5,000 years ago. No matter where the heart is.
"Grandpa, your work was not done in vain. You should be smiling in heaven. "Said his grandson Shi Shiying.
From a temporary explainer to a museum draftsman
A serious academic "archaeologist"
The first to enter society This job is very important to young people, and so is Shi Xin. The job as a temporary explainer for the History Hall of the West Expo is only 128 days, but the impact on him lasts for a lifetime.
Because of his outstanding performance, in the subsequent establishment of the West Lake Museum (now Zhejiang Museum), he got the position of assistant secretary of the Geology and Minerals Group of the Ministry of Natural Sciences In the second year, he became a full-time draftsman in the museum.
Shi Xin, who was born in the apprentice class, loved history more and cherished this counterpart job. During the period, he kept asking colleagues in the museum for advice on geology and Archeological knowledge. In 1933, Shi Xin also went to Xiaofeng area to recover a few boxes of paleontological fossils.
As a draftsman, Shi Xin painted his own life as a field archeology Road. Fortunately, the end of this road is full of the fruits of 5000 years of Chinese civilization, and this road leads to his hometown-Liangzhu.
God assists from the archaeological world
Understand the Joint Archaeological Action of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai
In 1930, some stone tools and pottery pieces with geometric seals were unearthed in Qixia Mountain and other places in Nanjing. With the further expansion of the excavation work, archaeologists such as Wei Juxian were delighted to discover: This is not proof of our stone tools in Jiangnan A relic of the times? Isn't this the proof that our Wuyue culture will not lose to the Central Plains and will never lag behind the world?
When it comes to Wuyue culture, the birthplace of "Hangzhou Station" must be inevitable. In May 1935, this group of excited archaeologists finally came. They first started at the antique market and found that some of the stone tools on hand by antique dealers were more consistent with the characteristics of the Neolithic period. After careful inquiry, they learned that they were stolen from the Gudang area of Hangzhou.
So, with the assistance of the West Lake Museum, they conducted a rescue excavation of the site in the Gudang area. Among the contestants sent by the West Lake Museum is our versatile draftsman, Mr. Shi Xingeng! Please pay attention,Although the visit of archaeologists here only unearthed Gudang, it was of decisive significance for Shi Xingeng's subsequent excavation of the Liangzhu site.
The stone axe of "the same style of Gudang" was found in my hometown.
Let’s live up to expectations and explore the dawn of civilization three times.
A stone axe with holes was excavated in the cultural relics excavated in the Gudang area. It attracted Shi Xin's attention. Hey, don’t we have a lot of these things in our hometown? Shi Xin even thought of the hometown where the digging of cultural relics (especially jade) prevailed. Will the stone tools and pottery scattered around the pits have anything to do with the cultural relics unearthed by Gudang?
He subconsciously felt that "there is something in his hometown", and he came up with a bold idea: There may be an ancient ruins in Liangzhu area. Since Shi Xin painted his life path to field archaeology, he has always used the rigorous attitude of archaeologists to demand himself. He first went back to his hometown to go to the fields. He collected some pottery pieces, compared them, and then reported his ideas to the then director of the West Lake Museum, Mr. Dong Yumao.
How important it is to meet a leader who recognizes oneself. Mr. Dong Yumao, as a returnee doctor of Kyoto Imperial University and the head of the Department of Biology of Zhejiang University, showed great importance to Shi Xingeng’s discoveries. From December 1936 to March of the following year, he was led by Shi Xingeng. In this way, the three archaeological excavations were carried out vigorously in Liangzhu.
Writing an archaeological excavation report
This young man’s small goal
The results of these three-month archaeological discoveries are the knowledge that I was in the shadow of war. For the molecules, it is undoubtedly a cardiotonic shot. A large number of stone tools, pottery pieces, pottery, etc. were unearthed, confirming Shi Xingeng’s speculation from the perspective of scientific excavations: Liangzhu is a holy site with ancient cultural relics.
While looking forward to exploring the monuments again and expanding the scope of excavations, Shi Xingeng started writing an archaeological excavation report. This is only 25 years old, a non-archeology college graduate in 1937. aims. After half a year, the manuscript of "Liangzhu-Preliminary Report on Black Pottery Cultural Sites in the Second District of Hangzhou" was completed.
In his report, he pointed out the importance of the ancient culture of Liangzhu site in the Neolithic culture of China, and believed that this ancient culture was a branch of the Longshan culture. This view was proved inaccurate in subsequent excavation studies, but in the absence ofWith the certification of scientific and technological means and the reserve of professional knowledge, it is worthy of praise him 100 times to be able to make such a judgment.
Coming out in the flames of war, forever in history
The ending of tears is like "Wuwenxidong"
We published an archaeological excavation report for Shi Xingeng , The envisioned steps are as follows: writing, editing, proofreading, printing, coming out, selling, shocking the Three Realms, and becoming popular. But history is not a fairy tale, and there is rarely a happy ending in the turbulent years. All this led to another tearful ending with the Japanese occupation of Hangzhou in 1937.
At that time, "Liangzhu", which had been put into printing and publishing, was forced to give birth due to the fall of Hangzhou. Shi Xin even brought the manuscript of the report together with other museum staff to rescue a large number of cultural relics from occupied Hangzhou to southern Zhejiang. On the way to exile, Shi Xin decided to invest in the army and defend himself against Japan in Ruian County. Will work. With the strong recommendation of Mr. Dong Yumao and the help of colleagues in the museum, his manuscript was taken to the Shanghai concession before being delivered for printing again after many setbacks.
In 1938, when the printed "Liangzhu" was delivered to the author Shi Xingeng, it was barely a semi-finished product: even the trimming was not completed. His longing dream of returning to his homeland for excavation work had not yet been realized, because he was infected with scarlet fever and died in May of the following year.
The title page of Liangzhu Civilization
They must have their names
Shi Xingeng wrote at the beginning of the first volume of "Liangzhu": This report, With the same fate of the author, after many hardships and hardships, it was finally published. Although it is a gratifying thing, the book is finished, but I can't bear to read it, and I am even more emotional! I imagine the birthplace of this book-Liangzhu-has been destroyed by the enemy's wild flamesDestroyed, the mountains and rivers are so dejected for the enemy's rider to stumble. The materials in this report have also been lost, so turning to every page of this book, I feel sad as if looking at his remains.
At this moment, we look up from the archaeological story for the time being to look at our devastated motherland: The September 18th Incident broke out in 1931, and the War of Resistance in some areas of China rose; in 1932, the Battle of Songhu broke out and the Japanese garrison Shanghai; In 1933, the Japanese army broke through Shanhaiguan, and North China was at stake; on August 1, 1935, the Chinese Communist Party’s "August 1st Manifesto" called for a cessation of civil war and united resistance against Japan; in 1937, the anti-Japanese national united front was initially formed, and the Lugou Bridge Incident and Nanjing broke out in the same year. The massacre, the fall of Hangzhou...
Imagine that at that time, in the land of China, where the artillery fires, this group of intellectuals, carrying toolboxes and documents, carrying cameras and surveying tools, were to save us 500The Chinese civilization in 0 years ran away: the archaeologist Wei Juxian discovered the Neolithic remains in Nanjing, and established the academic institution "Wuyue History and Geography Research Association" with Cai Yuanpei, Liang Siyong and others to promote the study of prehistoric culture in the Yangtze River Delta. Dong Yumao, director of the West Lake Museum and founder of Chinese crustacean research, fully supported the Liangzhu excavation work, transferred the museum cultural relics at his own expense, and carried out activities for the publication of "Liangzhu"......
Shi Xingeng’s grandson Shi Shiying (Deputy Director of Liangzhu Site Management Office): Grandpa is in heaven, so he should be laughing
The tragic epic of the War of Resistance Against JapanAmong them, there are countless academics like Wei Juxian, Dong Yumao, and Liang Siyong who use their own methods to compose their hymns of cultural salvation and cultural rejuvenation. They must have their names on the title page of Liangzhu civilization!
It is because of the efforts of generations that the Liangzhu civilization "opens up" the discovery process after liberation and today, this mysterious veil of 5000 years ago, They unveiled it by themselves.
